Tiff came up this hair-brained idea that we need to take Belly Dancing Classes.
What???? Okay, I'm all for trying new things...but have ya seen my BELLY!! The belly can already dance, it's the rest of me that has to catch up! I mean really...why do I get suckered into this stuff. Tiff comes up with some crazy stuff and being the "Ethel" I am...I just join in out of total peer pressure. So I am begging you....SAVE ME FROM TOTAL HUMILIATION!!!
Here's the description of the class (Parks and Rec, mind you):
Beginning Belly Dancing
Learn basic hip techniques, shimmies (um, yeah...I've already got that mastered) & muscle control(are there even any muscles left in there after 3, or 6 in Tiff's case, children?) of this fascinating dance form. A fun and exciting exercise and great way to stay fit. Step combinations, muscler isolations, strengthening exercises and working with (here's where it gets good) a veil, included. Finger cymbals are introduced.(this actually almost sold me) Wear workout clothes (oh, thank goodness...cause I definately don't have the right apparel for this sport) or dancewear with soft shoes or socks. (5 wks.)
Classes held at the Fairfield YMCA, 4949 Atlantic Ave. (yeah, that's in the ghetto).
