The end of cross country season

Sabrina competed in her last meet at Mt. Sac. This meet was the qualifier for National Junior Olympics (step 2-see previous post about this). She did well, although she did not qualify for Nationals this time. We are proud of her progress this season. She did great! She ended the season with a P.R. (personal record) of 9 minutes flat in a 2k. Because she did so well, we rewarded her with a watch that has a stop watch/timer and all the bells and whistles.

At the start line. It was sooo foggy and cold (about 58 degrees) that morning.

Almost to the finish line. Sabrina actually hurt her foot somewhere around this point that left her in tears at the finish...limping for a few days...and a trip to the doctor. Luckily the injury happened in the last race of the season!

One happy girl with a new watch!

We had a banquet for the team, where the kids were awarded their trophies. Sabrina was praised by her coaches, saying that she is like the "energizer bunny"...she just keeps going and going and going......The kids ate dinner in the garage...so us parents could eat, chat and watch football.

Coach Louie presenting Sabrina her trophy.

All the kids with their trophies.

GO WILD!!!!!
