Poundin' the Pavement

It's fall time...and you know what that means at the Del Bello household.

Yep, it's cross country season for Sabrina.

First matter of business, new shoes.

You can tell by the pictures below that these were well used. Yes, my child wore holes in her shoes and she still continued to wear them.

But don't worry, we started out this year with new ones. She's ready to pack on the miles! She says that "these are the shoes that are going to take her to Nationals this year!" I like her competitive spirit!

Second matter of business, find a coach. Since her team is no longer around, we have had trouble trying to find a team for her to run with. So her new coach is none better than HER DAD! If you see a little girl running and man huffing and puffing behind her (or possibly riding a red cruiser bike)...that must mean it's practice time. (Gian would be grateful for any suggestions on a new coach.)

Third matter of business, winning a few races. Sabrina has already run her first race. She moved up age levels this year, which means she runs against girls that are up to 2 years older and A LOT taller! Also, she now has to run a 1.8 mile race. Her first race she did very well...came in 13 out of 33 girls with a 10min 30sec time!

We are hoping that we will see a fun fall cross-country season!

Wish her luck when you see her...she needs lots of support!

Best wishes to Sabrina this season! She truly is an AMAZING athlete! I know she'll continue to do well (and leave the competition in the dust!).
