Cross Country meet #1

So...here we go. We're off and running, literally!

Sabrina's first cross country meet was in Corona.

She ran with 2 other girls from our team and there were about 20-25 girls in their heat.

In her age category she has to run 1.2 miles.

So here's the pictures:

The start

This was about a third of the way through the course. Sabrina's on the right, behind the girl in pink and blue.
I love this picture of Sabrina WAAAaaaAAay out in the distance with Gian and Tab and Charlee watching her. At this point in the race Sabrina was in 1st place with a good 100 yard lead. And, needless to say, I was tearing up (what a crybaby Mom am I).
This was the final stretch...to which Sabrina gave her final sprint.

She came in 1st place with a time of 9 minutes and 13 seconds.

All three of our girls won! Chloe came in 3rd place and Arriana came in 5th!

I think this is definately Sabrina's sport! She loves to run distance and really has figured out how to pace herself. She is totally in her element here! I'm proud of Sabrina and her success. I'm also proud of Arriana and Chloe who gave it their all and did real well. The boys on our team also did well (although I'm not sure of their times) and they have now set some goals for themselves!
