Finally home

After 4 weeks of being VERY sick, my dad is finally home from the hospital.
He spent a little over a week in the CCU at Los Alamitos Hospital and then he to a "rehab" facility in Seal Beach for a couple weeks. He was extremely ill. And that caused him to also be extremely weak. (See my mom's blog to get the low down on what happened.) He will continue Physical Therapy at home and hopefully will gain his strength back. My mom has been a real trooper and has been by his side constantly. They are both relieved to be home together and are hoping to get him well soon.
I have been worried about him and my mom. It definately takes a toll on the whole family when things like this happen. My kids have learned a lot about service and what it's like when you get older. We took them to the "rehab" facility (nursing home) several times and had wonderful talks about senior citizens. We had Family Home Evening discussions about service and even took my mom dinner one night. Every prayer included asking for Papa to feel better soon.
I am grateful that my Dad is doing better. I hope that he will have to energy to gain his strength back. I am glad that my parents don't have to be at a hospital anymore and can be at home to recover!

Oh I'm so glad to hear this. I hope that he continues to take care of himself as he recovers. So scary.

Thanks, Amy-Sue, you and your family were troopers, too. With me that first day at the hospital (dinner out was a great distraction, and dinner in was a great meal). Too much stress, right? Lovoe y'all Mom

Oh wow. I'm so sorry to hear he's been ill. It's so hard to watch your parents go through hard times. A few years ago my mom went through major surgery and it was so hard to see her have to go through that. I'm glad to hear that he's doing better and that he's home. He's lucky to have such a great family watching out for him!
