After school activities

Lots of people put their kids in all kinds of activities after school...like dance, soccer, baseball, swimming, and even running. I'm not against all that stuff. In fact, I have been known to have my children do those things. However, we have taken a bit of a backseat to all that recently (due to unforseen finger issues) and tried doing some fun family activities after school. Here's some of our adventures.

Planting a garden of flowers and letting 1500 ladybugs go...

Fill up the wading pools and slide down the slide into leaves

Go out for yogurt and fly a kite

Sometimes it's okay for a kid to just be a kid!!!

I completely agree! While I often feel guilty that I'm not signing my kids up for more stuff, I know that they really love their free time. It's those unstructured times that can bring out the most creativity in them. Some of our best memories have come from those unplanned moments.

I love this post! You do a great job providing your kids with kid/imagination time. You forgot to include the "virtual bowling" with their cousins. Good parenting! Love these kids. Mom/nana

I love the ladybugs! Looks like fun!

None of my kids are involved in anything that takes any time after school right now and it is awesome! I love how the older kids are enjoying their little brother and sister again.
